Some of Professor Mason's outreach activities are centered around community college students. She participated at the last two Iowa Community College Annual Articulation Conferences and was a co-author of the Iowa Chemistry Transition Guide.  A transition guide is a transfer planning resource developed by Iowa community college and university instructors and advisers in a specific academic discipline. The guide is provided for use by students, faculty, advisers and the public in planning for a successful transfer experience from an Iowa community college to one of Iowa's public universities.

She has visited Hawkeye Community College to talk with students and instructors about opportunities for their future in the chemical sciences, and will be making more visits in the 2015 academic year.  If you are a community college chemistry instructor who is interested in hosting a visit to your school from Prof. Mason, please contact her directly!

In January 2019, SEM visit University of Puerto Rico Cayey to speak about Computational Chemistry as part of their RISE Research Symposium.
