Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Analytical Sciences

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Iowa is pleased to announce a search to fill a tenure-track faculty line at the level of Assistant Professor in the area of analytical chemistry. Applications are encouraged in all fields of analytical science. Scientists interested in the development of mass spectrometry to advance bioscience, environmental science, or material/nanoscience are particularly encouraged to apply. Review of applications will begin on October 26 and will continue until the position is filled.

Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Water Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Iowa is pleased to announce a search to fill a tenure-track faculty line at the level of Assistant Professor in the area of water chemistry. At the University of Iowa, water chemistry is broadly defined and research is predicated upon fundamental science. Areas of research that a new faculty hire could be involved in include, but are not limited to:

  • development of new catalysts and high surface area nanomaterials for the remediation of water
  • sensor development for measuring contaminants
  • development of "greener" methods in the making of chemicals including pharmaceutics
  • focused research in energy production including solar and fuel cells and understanding the underlying processes and electron transfer mechanisms
