Department of Chemistry Awarded NRC Grant

The Department of Chemistry has been awarded $393,000 by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to advance the Graduate Program in Radiochemistry at the University of Iowa.  Drs. Tori Forbes (Chemistry) and Michael K. Schultz (Radiology) are Co-Principle investigators of the award, which will support three $25,000 fellowships annually for graduate students conducting radiochemistry research with University of Iowa faculty members.  Additional funds have been provided by the University of Iowa Graduate College and Office of the Vice President for Research to support summer research positions and the "Radiochemistry pathways to post-graduation" program that is designed to help students secure employment in radiochemistry –related fields.
