Welcome to the Larsen Lab (2008)
The Larsen lab is located in the University of Iowa Chemistry building in Iowa City, Iowa. This website aims to describe the research and interests of the Larsen group and its members.
The major research focus in our lab is the investigation of nanocrystalline zeolites and their applications in the environmental, and biomedical fields. Investigations include the use of zeolites as absorption agents of heavy metals and possible applications in drug delivery mechanisms.
The group utilizes the techniques of XRD, solid state NMR, EPR, ICP, AFM, BET, SEM and dynamic light scattering to characterize and investigate the properties of nano-crystalline zeolites. Each technique is used in a complimentary manner to facilitate understanding of the relevant systems and their applications to modern day problems.
If you have any questions about our research or the group feel free to contact any group member.
