Varuni's project involves optimizing separation efficiency of Parkinson's disease biomarkers using nanoparticle enhanced capillary electrophoresis.

Sudip's project focuses on the synthesis, stabilization, and purification of solution-phase nanoparticles for quantitative SERS detection.

 

	Graduate Student: Michael R. Ivanov, 2008 - Present Email: michael-ivanov(at)uiowa.edu B.S. Loras College

Mike's research focuses on understanding what is on the surface of nanoparticles and how that surface chemistry impacts separations of neurotransmitters using capillary electrophoresis.

 

	Graduate Student: Anna Volkert, 2008 - Present Email: anna-volkert(at)uiowa.edu B.S. University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire

Anna is a second year graduate student working on quantifying the stability of size-tunable nanostructures in extreme solution conditions for biological applications.

 

	Graduate Student: Marie Pierre, 2008 - Present Email: mariecarmelle-pierre(at)uiowa.edu B.S. Kean College

Marie works on the composite nanoparticle project for cancer drug detection. Her current project focus is on synthesizing (relatively) large batches of these materials for characterization and applications.

 

	Graduate Student: Niraj Pandya, 2009 - Present Email: nirajhemantbhai-pandya(at)uiowa.edu M.Sc. Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee B.Sc. The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda

Niraj's project focuses on synthesizing and purifying nanoparticles for SERS applications.

 

	Undergraduate Student: Amanda Jones, 2009 - Present Email: amanda-m-jones(at)uiowa.edu B.S. expected 2010

Amanda is an undergraduate in the chemistry department at the University of Iowa. She works on the capillary electrophoresis and nanoparticle project.
