This is a view from the Cleary Walkway, one block from the Chemistry Building, in February 2006.

The Old Capitol (background) was built in 1840 to house the first capitol of the State of Iowa, located in Iowa City until
1857, when it was moved to Des Moines.  This building then became part of the University and serves
as a central landmark for the university campus and for Iowa City.
